A true blizzard; wind gusts deposit part of Wrigley Field onto Clark Street
Heavy snow and extreme winds are not a good mix. These two conditions are resulting in multiple problems this evening across the Chicago area.
Part of Wrigley Field lands on Clark Street
A portion of a structural panel above the press box at Wrigley Field broke away due to high winds scattering debris outside the ball park, officials said. Our WeatherBug camera captured the debris lying in the street earlier this evening. Police are attempting to clean up the debris.
Lake Shore Drive turning into a parking lot?
Numerous reports have come in to the WGN Weather Center describing Northbound Lake Shore Drive as "gridlock". One motorist claims he has been on the drive for over 3 and 1/2 hours.
