Volcano Alert Raised to Highest Level in Bali

Recently, Mount Agung volcano in Bali caused a huge eruption that resulted in 100,000 people having to evacuate the area. Since last Tuesday November 28th, intense continuous volcanic ash has led authorities to confirm the volcano was shifting into the magmatic phase, and informed citizens in the are the warning level is now at the maximum of 4 as of Monday December 4th. According to the Indonesian disaster mitigation, there is potential for an even bigger eruption. Mudflows from the eruption have been moving through rivers rapidly and citizens are told to stay as far away as possible. Because of the increase in seismicity, with both intensity and frequency of earthquakes within the past few months, magma has been rising from deep. The building of pressure, mixture of molten rock, rise of gas, and gas from bubbles lie within Mount Agung. The lack of gas escaping increases the possibility of an eruption.
