Long Beach broke a heat record Monday, with a high of 85 degrees—hot enough to break the old record of 84 degrees set in 1958, according to the National Weather Service.
The city of Camarillo also set a record of 86 degrees, a degree hotter than the old record set in 1958. Oxnard tied a high of 86 degrees, set in 2004, and Santa Barbara hit 78 degrees, tied with the high in 1958.
The unseasonably warm temperatures are expected to continue Tuesday, with a high of 80 degrees predicted in Long Beach. A high of 78 degrees is expected on Wednesday.
