Saturday, a few thunderstorms in parts of west-central Texas may produce hail or a brief wind gust, but overall the severe threat will remain low.
Sunday, the chance for thunderstorms shifts into east Texas, Louisiana and western Mississippi. Again, the threat for severe weather is pretty low.
In the upcoming week, a new storm system will carve into the West, then will eventually swing out into the nation's mid-section and East.
This could bring a return of some severe storms to portions of the central and southern states. As of this time, it appears an enhanced severe threat will center around Tuesday, possibly into Wednesday from parts of the Southern Plains to the mid-Mississippi Valley.
