Chicago weather: Seasonable chill before mid-December mild spell
chicago-area temperatures will hover in the 30s into the middle of next week with a brief encounter with the lower 40s early Monday. It's expected to warm into the 50s on Dec. 12. The city's recent dry regime will continue with the exception of some scattered light showers Sunday night that could end as snow flurries on Monday. Scattered light showers dampened areas south of the city Friday, while a far more significant rain system brought 1 to 2 inch totals to portions of southern Illinois.
