A major storm is set to impact the Northeast through Thursday, bringing substantial snow to inland areas, heavy rain and tropical storm-force winds to the coast and a wintry mix in between the two.
The storm began early Tuesday morning along the mid-Atlantic coast and will continue to spread inland and northward through Wednesday.
Heavy, wet snow can lead to downed trees and power lines. Meanwhile, interstates in upstate New York and northern New England may become snow covered, making for treacherous travel conditions.
