Heavy Rain Leads To Flooding In Long Island, New York

Waterlogged cars filled the streets of Long Island, New York, today as heavy rain brought significant flooding to the area. Reports of floods came from all throughout the area with issues reported in Seaford, West Babylon and Smithtown.
That rain is expected to continue throughout the night with heavy precipitation forecast for several parts of the northeast including Delaware and Eastern Maryland.
"Even though the rain is much needed as the area is experiencing a moderate drought, the rain has fallen too quickly to be absorbed in low-lying areas," Vagell said.
