Line of Severe Thunderstorms Leaves Damage, Thousands Without Power in New Jersey, Philadelphia

 Damaged trees

Thousands are without power in Pennsylvania as a line of thunderstorms downed power lines and trees across Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maryland Wednesday afternoon.
“These storms gained strength as they approached the I-95 corridor," said weather.com meteorologist Tom Moore, "and they maintained their strength as they passed through southern New Jersey."
Winds gusted to 66 mph in Millville, New Jersey, Moore said, which incidentally was stronger than any reported wind gust from Tropical Storm Colin.
The roof of a Camden County College building was blown off by the storm and a roof partially collapsed at an Atlantic City apartment building in New Jersey Wednesday, the Associated Press reports.
