Less Wind to Fuel Galena Wildfire


Winds that helped fuel a wildfire in Fort Collins, Colorado should die down on Sunday.

According to denverpost.com, the wildfire is still at five percent containment, Saturday. Homeowners that were told to evacuate will be able to return to their homes Saturday at 8 p.m. However, residents should be aware and prepared to evacuate if the fire changes path.

Wind gusts on Friday in the Fort Collins area were around 30 mph. AccuWeather.com Senior Meteorologist Alan Reppert said that Sunday, the Fort Collins area can expect less windy conditions with wind gusts between 10 to 20 mph and temperatures 10 to 20 degrees cooler.
