Damaging winds and hail are the main concerns. The best chance of a tornado will be over south Georgia and north Florida.
Ahead of the main cold front there could be a few strong to severe storms with hail for parts of Tennessee, north and east Alabama and into west Georgia.

The severe storm threat this weekend is in the warm sector of Winter Storm Virgil, which will bring snow to a large swath of the Midwest. In the wake of Virgil, cold air will keep severe thunderstorms out of the picture nationwide for several days -- good news in the heart of tornado season across the South.
