DES MOINES, Iowa —Thunderstorms, some dropping hail, rolled through central Iowa overnight.
Thunderstorm watches expired for 44 Iowa counties early Tuesday morning. The chance for severe weather continues for the rest of the week.

It will feel like summer today, with breezy conditions and highs in the lower to middle 80s anywhere along and south of Highway 30. A few storms may start to pop up by mid-to late afternoon, with widespread storm activity likely into the evening hours.
A few storms may be capable of producing some large hail and gusty winds. For that reason, the Storm Prediction Center has put a slight risk over central Iowa for late today and tonight.
For tonight, thunderstorms are likely through the early morning with a low in the mid-50s.
For Wednesday, rain is likely with a chance of thunderstorms in the morning, then rain through the afternoon. It will be breezy and much cooler with a high only in the mid-50s. Expect wind gusts up to 35 mph.
The rainy pattern continues into Wednesday night and it will be unseasonably cold, with lows in the mid-30s.
