No severe weather this week, but expect rain, a cool-down
There should be no need for warnings of dangerous weather in the Omaha area this week.
Today and Tuesday will see partly sunny skies with highs in the 70s.
Temperatures (and presumably spirits) will drop Wednesday after showers and thunderstorms move into the area Tuesday night. Rain was considered likely through Wednesday and remained a possibility into next week.
The National Weather Service is giving Omaha an 80 percent chance of rain on Tuesday night, a 70 percent chance Wednesday during the day and a 60 percent chance on Wednesday night. Expect highs in the 40s and a chance of showers across the region for the remainder of the week.
“It will be a relatively quiet couple of days,” said Rob Richards, a meteorologist with AccuWeather, The World-Herald’s weather consultant. “I don’t think we’ll see anything really serious.”
