Spring Thaw May Trigger Floods; Calif. Drought Locked In

The end of winter "could bring flooding to parts of the Midwest and the northern Plains, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said in its official spring outlook, released Thursday.
Conversely, in the West, where a persistent drought has kept most of California firmly in its grip, the spring looks to bring more of the same: warm, dry weather, which bodes ill for any drought relief and for the upcoming wildlife season."
Since there is the prediction of cooler than normal temperatures for the end of March and April, the flooding may be delayed. Nevertheless, the flooding will be severe when it comes, possibly causing deaths. While we are dealing with intense rain and flooding, the West will stay in an unusually long drought. As you can see, across the United States, the weather will be completely opposite.
