Pensacola, Florida, and Mobile, Alabama, Swamped by Flash Flooding!

In Foley, Alabama, some people couldn't get out of their homes on Wednesday, April 30, 2014, after flood waters surrounded their homes,

Torrential rain from a pair of thunderstorm clusters triggered major flash flooding along parts of the Alabama Gulf Coast and the Florida Panhandle late Tuesday and early Wednesday. Authorities blamed the flooding for one death in Pensacola, Florida, and a deadly Wednesday morning explosion at a nearby jail may have also been due to the floods.A gas explosion at the Pensacola jail killed at least two people and injured more than 180 others, according to an Escambia County spokesperson. The explosion happened around 11 p.m. CDT Wednesday in a booking facility at the Escambia County Jail, said Kathleen Castro, the county's public information manager. The blast also injured 100 to 150 inmates and corrections officers and caused the building to partially collapse.Officials lost track of three inmates in the chaos, but Castro said they were constantly under authorities control. The confusion occurred when hundreds of inmates had to be bused to hospitals or another prison following the blast. She said about 600 inmates were in the building at the time.
