Freezing drizzle advisories in effect for eastern Ontario

Weather advisories for freezing drizzle are issued when drizzle falling in sub-zero temperatures is expected to freeze on contact and over time create icy surfaces," Environment Canada says in a statement.
Friday has been a calm day with high pressure in place. The next system remains mostly stateside Friday night into Saturday morning -- although the latest forecast wants to push a snow/rain mix through southern Ontario," says Weather Network meteorologist Erin Wenckstern. Sarnia across to Toronto and communities hugging the shorelines of Lake Ontario could see mixing but if it does hit, it will be brief.
Residents of affected areas are being warned to take extra care when walking or driving Friday into Saturday.
