Montreal’s First Major Winter Snowstorm May Hit Tomorrow

We all knew it was coming folks, and whilewe’ve seen snippets of winter’s fury with dropping temperatures and light precipitation, the season’s rage will fall from the sky in full force tomorrow, if CTV and this Environment Canada weather warning are to be trusted.

Issued at about 5am this morning, December 8th, Environment Canada has warned the Montréal-Laval area of an intense snowfall that will likely begin Tuesday night, beginning in Southern Quebec then spreading to the central and Eastern areas of the province.
Environment Canada was certain to point out that “it is still too early to forecast precise snowfall” (classic meteorologist move, am I right?) though some regions could get hit with 15 centimetres of snow. Said snow could fall as freezing rain, as temperatures may fluctuate above the zero mark. Fingers crossed.
In contrast to the weather warning, Environment Canada’s Tuesday-forecast for Montreal on the site’s 7-day spread is much more uplifting, predicting a “risk of freezing rain in the evening” and snow that will only reach 2cm. Obviously this second forecast is ideal, so lets hope the lords of winter (looking at you Skadi) smile down upon us and make it happen, because 2cms ain’t no thang, but 15...
