A thunderstorm and flash flooding watch was issued this
morning for near Albuquerque, New Mexico, and El Paso, Texas. The warm moisture from
the Pacific will continue converge into the storm system and contribute to the
widespread showers and thunderstorms. The rain will be beneficial in lowering
the risk of wildfires; although, the storm system, by itself, will not be
enough to impact drought conditions significantly. The storm system is predicted to southwestward over Baja
California, Mexico into the weekend.
