Tanaki Affected By Winds

Homes and businesses in Hawera, Inglewood, Opunake, Urenui, Eltham, Manaia, Okato, Kaponga, Stratfod, and Rahotu are without power. There has been several severe thunderstorms wreaking havoc across Tanaki. There have also been reports of small tornadoes. The water supply in Opunake and Manaia was not functioning. Winds have been demolished small buildings, such as garages. Powerco estimated power would be restored by Tuesday. Roads have been impassable due to fallen trees and debris.
