Yet Another Super Typhoon: Jelawat

For the first time in 15 years, a third consecutive super typhoon has developed in the Western Pacific Ocean. As of Tuesday morning, it had maximum sustained winds of 160 mph. A "super typhoon"is a tropical cyclone with a maximum sustained winds of at least 150 mph. Jelawat is moving Northwest, past the Philippines. once the storm has weakened it will approach Japan. Jelawat follows Bolaven and Sanba as the third West Pacific "super typhoon" this year.
