Late-Season Snow Moves Through Upper Midwest
UPDATED 3:15 PM CDT, April 18, 2013
UPDATED By WeatherBug Meteorologist, John Bateman
A late-season winter storm will continue to rage across the northern Plains and western Great Lakes, bringing another six or more inches of fresh snow today and Friday.
The heavy snow hitting Nebraska,
South Dakota and central Minnesota is the result of a large low pressure
system moving northeast across the central Plains and into the Great
Lakes. On this system`s rear flank, cold air is streaming southward out
of Canada. This will combine with Gulf of Mexico moisture to produce
heavy snow as the storm progresses into southern Ontario by the end of
the week.
