Winds Subsiding in Midwest

Winds have diminished across the Midwest early Tuesday as the center of low pressure moved farther into Canada.
The map below shows selected peak wind gusts reported Monday across the Midwest and interior Northeast.
High winds spread into parts of Canada Monday, knocking down trees and power lines in many areas of southern Ontario.
Planes and a hangar were damaged at a small airstrip near Burlington, Ontario. Wind gusts topped 60 mph at Toronto City Airport, located on an island near the city's Lake Ontario shore. Winds blew large trees across streets and tore up advertising displays in Toronto, Canada's largest city:
