Winter Storm Cato Threatens Thanksgiving Travel Along East Coast

Winter Storm Cato is moving up the East Coast Wednesday, threatening Thanksgiving travel plans for millions as it dumps a wintery mix.
Parts of West Virginia had already recorded more than a foot of snow by midday. Roads were a mess in Virginia and airport delays were piling up in Philadelphia and New York City area airports.

An estimated 41.3 million people plan to travel via car today. The worst weather conditions for the Philadelphia and D.C. area will be between early Wednesday morning to early Wednesday evening, weather.com meteorologist Linda Lam reported. New York and Boston will see slick roads due to Cato's wintery mix mid- to late morning, continuing into the night.
FlightAware has reported more than 600 cancellations and 600 delays at airports across the U.S. Those numbers are likely to climb as the storm moves northward.
