10 straight days with measurable rain, alejandro arreola

A stagnant weather pattern in mid-April dumped torrential rain on parts of the Gulf Coast from Texas to the Florida Panhandle.
New Orleans set an April record 10 straight days with measurable rain through April 18, tallying 8.54 inches of rain in that time. This ranks as the eighth wettest April on record, there.
