September Snow Fall brings October Flooding

"The September storm that brought rain and snow to Southcentral Alaska is one for the record books.
Things got interesting on Tuesday, Sept. 29, when a strong storm system dropped 1.56 inches of rain in Anchorage. This beat the old daily record of 1.21 inches set in 1961.

Area flood advisories were issued for the Anchorage area and the Susitna Valley. Many streets and low-lying areas experienced standing water and flooding. In total, Anchorage recorded 7.7 inches of precipitation for September, which accounts for half of the total precipitation so far in 2015. This makes September 2015 the wettest on record for Anchorage."
