Halloween 2017 Weather Forecast: A Dry Treat For Much of the United States

Weather conditions this Halloween will be favorable for trick-or-treaters as dry conditions and cool fall temperatures grip a large swath of the nation.
A weather pattern featuring a southward dip in the jet stream that moved over the eastern half of the U.S. during the weekend will linger into Tuesday. This type of weather pattern generally wipes away any significant moisture source for weather systems to tap into.
In the West, an area of high pressure over the northern Pacific Ocean will block any Pacific storm systems from reaching California, Oregon or Washington.
All of this means that the large-scale weather pattern from coast-to-coast will be largely absent of significant precipitation.

Here's a closer look at the forecast for Halloween.

Trick Or Treat Forecast

On Tuesday evening, dry conditions are expected for trick-or-treaters in most areas east of the Mississippi River, except for a few rain or snow showers near the eastern Great Lakes.
The highest risk of showers or thunderstorms will be from southern Texas into the Ark-La-Tex region. Some rain or light snow will fall in central and eastern Montana into the western Dakotas, as well.

A few flurries will fly around Kansas City.
The coldest temperatures for trick-or-treating will be found in the Upper Midwest, where temperatures in the 30s are expected.
