A strong storm swept through Nepal's Gurja Himal mountain Friday, destroying a base camp and killing at least seven climbers, Nepalese police said on Saturday.
The bodies of four South Korean climbers, two Nepalese guides and another unidentified person were discovered by villagers who trekked to the base camp. The search continues for two people still missing.
“The bodies have not been identified. Going by the color of their skin four bodies must be of Korean climbers, while two are Nepalis,” police official Bir Bahadur Budhamagar told Reuters.
“It is unclear whether the seventh body found was that of a Korean or Nepali,” Budhamagar said.
