Chicago's Record Breaking Rainfall of April

Rain in this month of April has been the wettest on record for Chicago. Chicago neighborhoods and surrounding areas were affected throughout the State of Illinois. The Chicago Tribune reports the latest:

"If April's weather has seemed particularly tiresome, there's good reason: It has been cloudier and colder than normal, and after Tuesday's rain it's officially the wettest April on record.
As of midday Wednesday, 8.58 inches had fallen in April, beating the previous record of 8.33 inches in April 1947.
While the rest of the month looks fairly dry, that could well change, National Weather Service meteorologist Jim Allsopp said."
