Tornado Hunt Team on the Move

An active chase continues to unfold in southwestern Oklahoma for meteorologist Mike Bettes and his Tornado Hunt team this evening.

Around 5 p.m. local time, Bettes stood under a tightening funnel cloud during a live report near Frederick, Okla.

By 5:45 p.m. local time, the funnel started breaking apart. The team moved to an area near Lawton, Okla. The team captured a lowering wall cloud.

Oklahoma was among several states under a tornado watch at the time. The Weather Channel's severe weather expert Dr. Greg Forbes had a Tor:Con as high as 7 out of 10 in central and southwest Oklahoma.
