It appears the severe weather outbreak will begin in the morning hours on the western side of our highlighted severe threat area and continue to progress eastward through the afternoon and into Sunday evening.
Sunday night into Monday, the thunderstorms will diminish, however strong non-thunderstorm wind gusts may persist through portions of New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland and New Jersey. This threat of strong, possibly damaging winds could extend as far east as New York City by early Monday morning.
According to the Storm Prediction Center, more than 100 million people are at risk for severe weather Sunday into early Monday morning, however keep in mind that not every single location in the threat area will see severe weather.
