Hurricane Edouard Still Strengthening in Atlantic Ocean

Hurricane Edouard is spinning in the central Atlantic Ocean, over 500 miles east of Bermuda.

Edouard, the fifth named storm of the 2014 Atlantic hurricane season, will curve north, northeast then east through the rest of this week. On this track, the system will not pose a threat to Bermuda or the U.S. East Coast.

Edouard is still strengthening and may become the first major hurricane in the Atlantic basin since Hurricane Sandy, which briefly became a Category 3 storm as it crossed eastern Cuba in October 2012 before devastating the U.S. East Coast.
