Tropical Storm Polo Poised To Strengthen; Another Potential Baja California Threat?

Tropical Storm Polo is moving toward the northwest, paralleling the Mexican Pacific coast, where tropical storm watches have been issued.
While the core of the system is expected to stay offshore, periods of strong winds, heavy rain, high surf and rip currents may eventually affect portions of the coast, including the resorts of Acapulco and Ixtapa.
Tropical Storm Polo, the sixteenth named storm of a busy eastern Pacific hurricane season, has formed several hundred miles south-southeast of Acapulco, Mexico.
