Election Day weather forecast: Nice for most; soggy Texas

Election Day weather forecast: Nice for most; soggy Texas

Heavy rain will drench the southern Plains on Election Day -- potentially leading to flash flooding -- but voters in the Northwest and around the Great Lakes will also have to dodge some raindrops. Most of the rest of the country will see quiet and lovely weather for Election Day.
Plains: Soaking rain is likely throughout most of Texas and Oklahoma, where flash flooding is possible in cities such as Dallas and Oklahoma City. The central and northern Plains will be mostly clear and pleasant.
West: Showers are likely in the Pacific Northwest and the northern Rockies Tuesday, with the soggiest conditions in western Washington state. The rest of the West will be sunny.
Great Lakes: Some light rain will also dampen the Great Lakes.
East: The entire East Coast from New England to Florida will be sunny and dry on Tuesday, so there are no excuses not to get to the polls to vote.
