While snow has been reaching across the US and into the southeast, it is the ice that is the major story. Raleigh, NC could see up to 1/2 inch of ice, which could knock out power and make travel near impossible. There are several winter fronts going on at a time and it is what brought the NE a fourth snowstorm in three weeks and very low temps are expected to be around for another 2 more weeks.
As the tired and winter-fatigued NE remains buried in snow and is dealing with were to put all the snow and resident frustrations mount; A winter storm is also stretching across the Midwest and SE, which is dropping a messy mix of snow rain, ice and sleet.
