Slippery Roads and Freezing Temperatures Close Most of DC Area

Washington, DC, which is not accustomed to lots of snow and extremely cold temperatures will be closing several area school districts for another day after a majority of public schools and the federal government were closed Tuesday. The storm Tuesday dropped 4 inches of snow in the metro area and 6 inches in areas south of DC.

When another arctic front comes in Wednesday it could bring more snow and colder temps. It could leave a half inch of snow which could become slick and be hazardous for drivers and pedestrians. The wind chills will drop to below zero into Thursday, which is not common in the DC area.
