Britain Enjoys Weather

The country basked in temperatures hotter than Ibiza today while the sun shone as strongly as it does in August - making it a glorious day for the Queen's birthday.
Her Majesty is celebrating her 89th birthday at Windsor Castle today while the King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery rode their horses past Buckingham Palace in the sunshine en route to Hyde Park.
Most of Britain has been enjoying balmy weather and blue skies today with better conditions than on April 21, 1926, when Queen Elizabeth II was born, which was cloudy, overcast and rainy with highs of just seven degrees centigrade.
Temperatures hit a high of 20C (68F) in Bournemouth, Dorset, today, making it hotter than Ibiza - which could only manage 18C (64F), while much of the country enjoyed weather in the high teens.

Busy: Lots of sunbathers turned out to sit on the pebbles at Brighton beach in East Sussex today as temperatures reached 17C (62.6F)
