flooding Alejandro Arreola

The torrential rainfall that caused historic flooding in Baldwin County also did a number on Pensacola and Escambia County, Florida. The National Weather Service said that more than five inches of rain fell between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. Tuesday in Pensacola, surpassing the entire total rainfall from Hurricane Ivan in 60 minutes. The Weather Channel's Maria LaRosa posted on Twitter that there were nearly 6,000 lightning strikes between Pensacola and Panama City in just 15 minutes.
