LA on lookout

LOS ANGELES >>The National Weather Service this morning issued a hazardous weather outlook for the region as a series of low pressure systems that could bring rain and the possibility of thunder storms move down the coast.
The hazardous outlook, in effect through Monday but could be modified as time passes, was posted at 6 a.m. and initially covered the Central Coast. It applies to the rest of the region beginning Wednesday, said the NWS office in Oxnard.
“There is a slight chance of showers just about anywhere across Southwestern California Wednesday afternoon through Thursday night then across Ventura and Los Angeles counties Friday into Friday evening,” it said.
Short durations of heavy rain fall is possible with along with thunder storms and some isolated flooding, it noted.
Radar showed some pockets of rain building off the Central Coast early this morning.
One front with cooler temperatures had already settled over the region and several others are expected to follow, Stuart Seto, an weather specialist, said.
