Seymour continues to strengthen well off the coast of Mexico and is now a Category 2 hurricane. The system remains no threat to land as it moves west-northwest in the eastern Pacific Ocean.
Here's the latest from the National Hurricane Center:
  • Hurricane Seymour was located over 500 miles south of the southern tip of Baja California, as of Monday afternoon.
  • Seymour is forecast to strengthen and become a major Category 3 hurricane Monday night or Tuesday before weakening later this week.
  • This system is moving away from Mexico and is no direct threat to land at this time.
  • Seymour is the 13th hurricane of the 2016 northeast Pacific Ocean hurricane season.
