Secondary Fall Peak of Severe Weather

While Spring always brings the most severe weather of the year, Fall has become a close second.  Bringing Tornadoes, storms, and strong winds; Fall weather has taken its toll over the years.  Meteorologist Frank Strait says "The second severe peak happens in the fall because you see the jet stream starts to shift southward in response to the Northern Hemisphere cooling off".

Just like with cyclones, the earth is doing its best to get back to a normal pressure and temperature.  The weather acts like a fan to return the earth to its natural routine.  Unfortunately, these weather patterns can be very difficult for the Southern United States.  There is increased risk of tornadoes in the Great Plains. Atlantic Hurricane season ends on November 30th and, hopefully, the Earth will have balanced by then!
