Louisiana Tornado

Officials at the National Weather Service confirmed that a tornado touched down Monday morning in Kenner. According to the NWS website, the tornado struck Kenner around 10:30 a.m. near West Esplanade Avenue and Loyola Drive.The NWS said crews were sent to investigate in Kenner and confirmed that an EF1 touched down in the community west of New Orleans. Multiple trees and power poles uprooted, snapped or bent over," the NWS website described.
Elsewhere in the area, minor roof damage was visible to several homes. The roof of a patio was also reportedly lifted off one home.
While the report is still preliminary, the NWS said the EF1 tornado winds reached 90 mph. It traveled for 0.5 miles at a maximum width of 50 yards when it touched down.
Further details are expected this week.  While the Tornado was smaller in size, its winds were able to inflict damage on the town, and certainly left inhabitants rattled.
