Southern Fun

UNDATED (WHDH) -
Severe weather swept through the south over the weekend.
The National Weather Service confirmed two EF1 tornadoes touched down in Alabama, snapping trees and damaging several buildings.
In another part of the state, strong winds caused several train cars to go off track. They also ripped the roof off part of a high school building. No one was hurt.
Storms made their mark in Tennessee. Lightning took out part of a tree and caused it to crash down on a brand new home, causing thousands of dollars in damage.
One woman was killed in Atlanta when a tree crashed onto her home. Fire officials tried to get in, but the tree made the structure unstable.
Both the tree and the home had to be stabilized before crews could look for victims.
