Meranti's MerWrath

Meranti, a devastating storm. One of the most powerful cyclones in recorded history of the Northern Hemisphere. The storm reached it's greatest strength at 190 miles per hour. On the other side of the world, only one hurricane has reached 190 miles per hour which would be Hurricane Allen. The ar pressure surrounding the storm reached below 900 millibars. The storm's eye fortunately was not hitting landfall, so the worst was avoided. But the same cannot be said for the island of  Ittbayat, which was completely engulfed in the eye. the devastation was almost $5 million United States Dollar for the tiny island which has a population of 3,000 people. Meranti has claimed 14 people and over 1,600 homes.
