Microburst hits East Coast

Sunday morning in New Hampshire was a rough one for some. There were reports of fallen trees that damaged power lines leaving roughly 22,000 residents without electricity. As for other counties around the area, Massachusetts reported that 18,000 residents also had no power. Boston’s Logan airport reported winds with speeds up to 47 mph. After looking at the Boston news that was covering this same storm I found that they classified this storm as a microburst. A microburst is a small downdraft that moves in a way opposite to a tornado, I also added a picture to show everyone what a microburst looks like.
