Tornado Watch Issued as Severe Storms, Heavy Rain Threaten Midwest

Severe thunderstorms and flash flooding will threaten the Midwest through the first half of this week.
The first round of severe weather will fire up Monday along a cold front. Additional strong to severe storms will then be possible Tuesday into Wednesday as the tail end of that front stalls and a new low-pressure system develops.
NOAA's Storm Prediction Center has issued the following watch area:
  • A severe t-storm watch is in effect until 8 p.m. CDT for parts of southern Wisconsin and far northeast Iowa. This watch area includes Milwaukee and Madison.
  • A tornado watch is in effect until 10 p.m. CDT for parts of east-central and southeast Iowa and extreme northwest Illinois. This watch area includes Davenport, Iowa, and Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
