After Dumping Snow in the West, The Next Eastern Storm Will Likely Be More Wet Than Wintry

An Eastern storm is sweeping across the Pacific NW that will emerge over the central and eastern U.S., that will likely produce more rain than snow or ice this week into the weekend.

Mountain snow will be heavily produced, spreading into the Rockies and is expected into the NW tonight, into early Wednesday morning thru Wednesday evening. Several feet of snow is expected in the Washington Cascades, and over one foot of snow may blanket portions of the Northen  Rockies.

The system will proceed over the Great Plains and Midwest region Thursday until it moves towards the East Coast Friday, lasting through the weekend.

Multiple areas from the lower Mississippi Valley to the Ohio Valley, mid-Atlantic and Southeast may get up to one inch or more of rain. Flash flooding is possible on Friday in the southeastern areas impacted by Winter Storm Diego.
