Cyclone Owen is back for the ‘biggest weather event since the start of the year’

'Zombie' Tropical Cyclone Owen has strengthened to a category two system, as Queensland braces for heavy rain and destructive winds. Forecasters at the Bureau of Meteorology have warned the storm 'keeps coming back to life' and is expected to be urgraded again. NSW is expecting showers in the coming days, while a severe weather warning has been issued for parts of Victoria, with thunderstorms bringing heavy rain. The Bureau of Meteorology says the cyclone is moving west across the warm waters of the Gulf of Carpentaria, about 140km southeast of Groote Eylandt off the Northern Territory.
