Island of Fiji

Weather Improves In Many Parts Of Fij

Weather has improved significantly as systems have moved away from the Group faster than anticipated, says Fiji Meteorological Service director Ravind Kumar.
“Heavy rain and strong winds have eased and the weather will clear for most parts of the Group later today (yesterday),” he said.
“All alerts and warnings that were previously in force are now cancelled.
“Meanwhile, a trough of low pressure lies slow moving to the east of the Group and associated cloud and showers affect eastern parts of the country.
“Occasional showers, isolated heavy falls and possible thunderstorms are expected over Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, the interior and eastern parts of the larger islands and gradually clear.
