Owen to be reborn, threaten Queensland and Northern Territory with more flooding this week

Owen to be reborn, threaten Queensland and Northern Territory with more flooding this week

Owen 12/10

Owen could reach Category 3 severe tropical cyclone status during this time, with winds equal to that of a Category 1 or 2 hurricane in the Atlantic Ocean.
While the strongest winds will remain over the open water, the Pellew Islands and Groote Eylandt could endure a period of damaging winds.
As Owen tracks westward, it will bring locally heavy rainfall to coastal parts of the Queensland Gulf Country and the eastern Top End and cause a few showers and thunderstorms as far west as Darwin.
Localized flooding will be possible and may result in travel disruptions.
Prior to reaching the coast of the Top End on Thursday, Owen will stall and turn back to the east, once again crossing the southern Gulf of Carpentaria into Friday.
Additional damaging winds will be possible from the Pellew Islands to the Wellesley Islands and Karumba.
