Strong winds to whip from Paris and Amsterdam to Munich into Sunday

Strong winds to whip from Paris and Amsterdam to Munich into Sunday

Europe 12/8

Bouts of strong winds will raise the risk for local power outages, tree damage and travel disruptions across northern Europe into Sunday.
Wind hazards will not be confined to the British Isles.
Storms that kick up strong winds over the United Kingdom and Ireland will continue to track to the east and south, sending howling winds into northern Europe occasionally into Sunday.
Another bout of wind can sweep from northern France to southern Germany later into early Sunday. More wind may follow over some of the same areas during the day on Sunday.
Gusts with each round of winds should generally be on the order of 65-80 km/h (41-50 mph).
Such winds can whip through Paris and Strasbourg, France; Brussels, Belgium; Luxembourg City; Frankfurt, Stuttgart and Munich, Germany.
In and around these cities, there can be sporadic power outages and tree damage. Be sure to secure holiday decorations as these can get blown around and damaged.
