Tampa Bay

Forecast: Chilly morning across Tampa Bay will yield to another warm stretch

Thursday morning is off to one of the chilliest starts of the season, but as the sun comes up a warming trend that’ll take us into the weekend begins.
Morning temperatures started in the mid-low 40s across the Tampa Bay area thanks to the high-pressure system that started coming in Tuesday and dropped into the area Wednesday. National Weather Service forecasters said conditions will begin to warm as the sun comes up, hitting about 67 degrees this afternoon. Overnight lows won't be as cold tonight, only dipping into the 50s.
While Thursday's temperatures are still 5-7 degrees cooler than normal for this time of year, it's the start of a warming trend that'll take us through the weekend. High pressure will head eastbound and down, reaching Cuba by Friday, forecasters said. That movement will allow warmer air back into Florida as temperatures return to the 70s for Friday and Saturday.
Things should be dry until Sunday, when another cold front will bring in a storm system and set the area up for a chilly start to the working week.
